How Foundations First® Works

The Foundations First® software works in a way which is reflective of the quality auditing methods used by Community Link.

Establishing a quality audit

The first step, once a mandate to undertake the quality audit is clear, is to establish the audit. This is a quick and easy step, in which key features about the audit to be undertaken is recorded.
An illustration of the audit establishment screen is shown below.

Entering and assessing data

Foundations First® works so that you can enter data directly upon collection, or transfer data collected on paper forms. To enter data directly, a fast internet connection is required.
Depending on the design of any particular quality audit, data is entered and assessed according to the key forms of evidence in Foundations First®, namely –

  • Process documentation

  • Staff awareness

  • Output documentation

  • Stakeholder perceptions.

The entry of both qualitative text, and element or process ratings, are supported. Check the illustration of the data entry screen for process documentation, noting that the scale used can be altered to fit your needs.
